The Roayl grade appears early in Model 92 production and is rather short lived. The first run is 7537001-8000 and the last run is 7820001-1000. It occurs in both hunting and open face movments and only in movement variation 2-Serial number next to the barrel bridge and 2 plate screws in the barrel bridge. The star in the regulator is plain polished steel. The current research would suggest that there were around 2000 of each style produced. One of the interesting aspects of the Royal is that 17 jewel Crescent Streets appear in some of the Royal runs. It would appear that Waltham milled out the word Royal and inserted the words "Crescent St" in the milled out area. Because of this however, exact production figures for either watch may never be available. Below you will find a photo of a hunting case Royal and an open face Royal along with a link to photos and info on the 2 tone 17 jewel Crescent Street.
